Paneer ( cottage cheese)bhurji is a popular Northern Indian dish. This is a quick and simple vegetarian recipe which need few ingredients to prepare it
Paneer is the main ingredient in this recipe. One can use store bought paneer or can prepare at home.
Milk is curdled by adding lemon or vinegar to get fresh paneer. I prefer to use home made paneer rather than store bought paneer as it is more tastier, fresher and soft.
Lets start cooking:--
Paneer -- 1cup( crumble)
Onion -- 1 medium (chopped)
Tomato -- 2 medium ( chopped)
Green Chilli -- 3 to 4 ( chopped)
Ginger -- 1 inch ( grated)
Cumin whole -- 1tsp
Coriander powder -- 1tsp
Red chilli powder -- to taste
Garam masala -- 1/2 tsp
Kasturi methi -- 1tsp
Cream -- 1tbsp
Salt -- to taste
METHOD :--
Take a pan add cooking oil as required.
For tempering add cumin in oil.
Add onion and green chill . Saute well till onions are translucent.
Now add tomatoes and ginger, mix well.
When tomatoes are half done add all the powder masala and salt. Add dash of water to avoid burning of masala.
When oil separate from masala add paneer ( cottage cheese). Mix well.
Now add cream and mix well. Cook for couple of minutes.
Paneer bhurji is ready to serve.
Enjoy paneer bhurji with roti,paratha, naan,pav or with regular bread.
