PANEER BHURJI (cottage cheese)

Paneer bhurji is a popular, mouthwatering, delicious North Indian recipe made from crumble paneer or Indian cottage cheese. This is a very quick and easy recipe. By adding few ingredients like onion, tomatoes, ginger with Paneer it trun out a mouthwatering dish. It is eaten with roti,paratha ,pav or as a side in a meal. Paneer bhurji can also be used as stuffing in sandwiches or kathi rolls.



Here I have shared the most simplest way that can be prepared under few minutes. Even beginners can make it easily. Try to make Paneer bhurji with fresh homemade Paneer as it will give you the best taste,texture and flavour.

Let's prepare Paneer bhurji.

INGREDIENTS:--

  1. Paneer-- 1 cup

  2. Peas -- 1/2cup( optional)

  3. Onion-- 2 medium(chopped)

  4. Tomatoes-2 medium(chopped)

  5. Ginger-- 1 inch(grated)

  6. Green chilli-- 4(chopped)or to taste

  7. Cumin--1tsp(whole)

  8. Turmeric powder-- 1tsp

  9. Coriander powder-- 1tsp

  10. Garam masala powder--1tsp

  11. Kasuri methi-- 1 1/2tsp

  12. Green cardamon-- 2(powdered)

  13. Fresh cream-- 1tbsp

  14. Oil/Butter-- as per requirement

  15. Sugar-- 1tsp

  16. Salt-- to taste

METHOD:--

  1. Take Fresh homemade Paneer. (Indian cottage cheese)

  1. Now take a pan add oil or butter as per your choice and add cumin.

  1. Add onion and Green chilli. Stir for just few minutes.

  1. Now add peas along with pinch of salt. Mix it all and cover the pan for 3 to 4 min.



  1. Now remove the lid add tomatoes and ginger.


  1. Add all powder masala with dash of water. Except Green cardamon and sugar.

  1. Mix and cover the pan for next few minutes or till the peas and tomatoes get soften.

  1. Now add crumble paneer and mix well. Adjust sugar and salt.

  1. If required you can add dash of water to adjust the consistency. Cover with lid at lowest heat.



  1. Remove the cover after 3 to 4 minutes. Add kasuri methi and fresh cream.


  1. Mix it well. Switch off the flame. Add green cardamon powder. Cover the pan . Give standing time of 5 min.


12 . Paneer bhurji is ready to serve. Enjoy with choice of bread,roti,paratha, naan.
