Khasta khajur is a deep fried delicious snack is one of the popular Afghan dessert. Made out of simple ingredients. Perfect for any festival or special occasion.
Let's prepare the delicious snack.
INGREDIENTS:--
All Purpose flour-- 2cup
Sugar-- 1cup
Semolina-- 1/2cup
Dessicated coconut-- 1/3cup
Melon seeds -- 1/4cup
Fennel seeds -- 2tsp
Baking soda-- 2tsp
Cardamom powder-- 1tsp
Ghee/clarified butter-- 1/3cup
Oil -- for frying
METHOD :--
Take a big size bowl add all the dry ingredients.
2. Now add ghee/ clarified butter.
3. Mix the ingredients throughly.
4. Now add water or milk(as required) to make a stiff dough.
5. Let's dough rest for 15 min.
6. Divide the dough into equal part( lemon size ball).
7. Take a lemon size ball in your palm, give a rectangle shape.
8. With the help of a fork make a impression on it.
9. On the other hand take a heavy bottom pan, add sufficient oil for frying.
10. Fry the khasta khajur in medium to high flames.
11. Fry them in batches.
10. Fry till they trun golden brown. Flip carefully.
12. As soon as it trun golden brown, remove from the heat.
13. Let's it cool down completely.
14. Serve this delicious snack and enjoy with family and friends.
