Makhani recipe or butter masala is usually made with paneer or chicken. Making with egg is bit uncommon. Egg butter Masala is rich, creamy curry, egg are simmered in buttery tomato based gravy. It is easy, quick to prepare, taste delicious and makes meal delightful.
Egg butter Masala goes well with plain rice ,roti, jeera rice,pulav, butter naan.
INGREDIENTS:--
Boiled eggs-- 5
Onion-- 2 (roughly chopped)
Tomato-- 2( roughly chopped)
Ginger-- 1 inch
Garlic -- 10 cloves
Green cardamom-- 4
Mace -- small piece
Cinnamon-- 1 inch
Cashew nut -- 10 to12
Green chilli-- 3
Red chillpowder-- 1 & 1/2 tsp
Kashmiri red chillpowder-- 1tsp
Kasuri Methi-- 1tsp
Garam masala-- 1tsp
Fresh cream-- 1/4 cup
Butter -- 2tbsp
Salt-- to taste
Oil -- as required
METHOD :--
1 . Take hard boiled eggs in a plate.
2. Add turmeric powder, red chillpowder, salt.
3. Marinate it and keep aside for 5 minutes.
4. Now take a fry pan add sufficient oil for frying egg.
5. Fry till the eggs are light golden brown in colour. Keep it aside.
6. Transfer the oil in another pan and add butter, onion, tomatoes, green chilli, Cashew, ginger, garlic, mace,green cardamom, cinnamon.
7. Add all the powdered masala.
8. Stir till onions are translucent and tomatoes are mashy.
9. Remove the masala from the heat and transfer in a plate,let it cool down completely.
10. As soon as the masala cool down, make a fine and smooth paste out it.
11. Now add 2tbsp of oil in fry pan and add pre prepared tomatoes paste in it.
12. Add eggs. Mix it well and cover the pan with lid just for 5 minutes. Adjust the salt.
13. After five minutes remove the lid, you will see oil ooze out from masala that is the perfect indication that egg curry is done.
14. Egg butter Masala is ready to serve.
15. Enjoy with your choice of any Indian bread or rice preparation.
